What is CPAP device?

A CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine is one of the most common treatments for sleep apnea. It keeps your airways open while you sleep so you can receive the oxygen you need for optimal function. CPAP machines can significantly improve sleep quality and reduce your risk for a number of health issues, including heart disease and stroke.1

Sleep apnea cause poor sleep about yourself. CPAP therapy can not only help you sleep well, but also can have other health benefits.

Such as better concentration and fewer accidents because of more well-rested. It can also make you healthier than before, especially the brain health. (Sleep apnea causes white matter damage, a type of brain damage. CPAP therapy has been shown to help repair white matter damage, and the treatment can also improve mood, alertness and overall quality of life.)

How you can know if your CPAP is working for you?

CPAP therapy can bring more sleep during nighttime sleep. After a short-time therapy, you can get less daytime sleepiness, feel more refreshed, and be able to get up and out of bed easier, without morning headache, and so on.

Sleep apnea causes restless sleep, and the night-after-night cycle of waking up and falling back to sleep can really take a toll on the body. Any positive change in your health will let you know if CPAP is working for you.

How you can use your PAP device Correctly?

Most PAP devices have the same basic parts:

A mask. This covers your nose, mouth, or both.

Headgear and straps. These go around your head to hold the mask in place.

Tubing. This connects the mask to the flow generator.

A flow generator. This pushes air through the tubing and mask, into your lungs.

Most flow generators also have a filter and humidifier to clean and moisten the air you breathe in.

All flow generators have a power cord that plugs into a wall outlet.
